Some Quotes I LOVE that I hope you will too!

No one can make you feel inferior without your consent. ~Eleanor Roosevelt

The only way to have a friend, is to be a friend. ~Ralph Waldo Emerson

When you’re going through Hell, keep going. ~Winston Churchill

And then the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom. ~Anais Nin

Your life=Your Habits. Your Habits=Your Life ~Tami Walsh

Now, here’s a favorite poem of mine…

The Girl in The Glass

When you get what you want in your struggle for Self,

And the world makes you Queen for A Day,

Just go to the mirror and look at yourself,

And see what that girl has to say.

For it isn’t your father or mother or brother

whose judgment upon you must pass;

The person whose verdict means most in your life

Is the girl staring back from the glass.

She’s the girl you must please, never mind all the rest,

for she’s with you clear to the end;

And you’ve passed your most difficult, dangerous test

If the girl in the glass is your friend.

You may fool the whole world down the pathway of years,

And get pats on the back as you pass;

But your final reward will be heartache and tears,

If you cheated the girl in the glass

Confusing Thoughts

Thinking of things Unthinkable

Knowing of things Unknown,

Not knowing where you’re going or where you’ve been…

A confusing state of mind. Knowing what you don’t know.

Not knowing what you know.

Poetry from Girls Around The World:

Unnecessary Compass

I’m on the edge of a cliff,

and have the balance to step back,

those who find this common sense to comply, only get half.

There’s an intangible river in life that leads:

It fails, It prevails, it Drains and Succeeds.

My point is to never fear to fall…

for even if a stream may soon change its course,

It always returns to the ocean, of course.

An Autobiography in 5 Chapters

Chapter I

I walk down the street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I fall in.
I am lost…helpless.
It isn’t my fault.
But it takes forever to find a way out.

Chapter II

I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I pretend I don’t see it.
I fall in, again.
I can’t believe I am in this same place.
It isn’t my fault.
But it still takes a long time to get out.

Chapter III

I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I see it is there.
I fall in…it’s a habit…but now my eyes are open.
I know where I am.
It is my fault.
I get out immediately.

Chapter IV

I walk down the same street.
There is a hole deep in the sidewalk.
I walk around it.

Chapter V

I walk down a different street.

Coaches Corner: Fired Up Action Tip of the Month!

Set a goal for yourself that stretches you out of your routine. Identify one friend who will be your buddy and support you to do it. Plan a reward the two of you will enjoy once you complete it. Some recent examples from girls I coach are: running a half marathon for charity, and refusing to stress out about school work by planning ahead every Sunday night using a white board in their bedrooms to chart out their to do’s for the week! Whatever you choose, JUST COMMIT TO IT! (Hint: That’s the only real way you get lasting results in you life! Ok dolls?? Do I make sense?)

Last Month’s Fired Up Action Tip!

Find 2-3 magazines that you like. Go through the pages and cut out any words, phrases or images that make you feel good! Put them up, in collage format, around your bathroom mirror! Choose only things that you love! Look at them everyday as you are getting ready for school! Feel inspired!
